Southern Cooking At Its Best

When you think of one person at Internal Medicine Associates who brings a smile to faces of all its doctors, nurses, and staff, alike, you quickly and pointedly think of Ms. Lois. For over forty long years, Ms. Lois continues to leave her mark as one of the truly remarkable people in the practice's history. From 1963 to the present day, Ms. Lois has faithfully served, as an employee, a classic southern cook, and as an ambassador for one of the largest medical practices in Greenville, South Carolina.

A classic southern lady in the true sense of the word--Ms. Lois is dignified, caring, faithful, and hardworking. She looks forward to every new day with a smile and a fervent resolve. Employees at IMA can't help but notice her wonderful outlook on life. She is a fervent Christian and has been believer in the Lord Jesus Christ for many years. At ninety one years of age, she has witnessed and participated in the history most-of us are only able to read about. She is a remarkable testimony, showing care and concern for all the people in her life, from her family to her friends to her co-workers at the office.

Responsibility, however, is a serious word for Ms. Lois. And, so is dedication and honesty. That's why she is not one to miss a day of work nor can she tolerate things not being done right.

When she arrives at IMA, she arrives. And you can only watch and remark about how one special individual can make such a difference to busy medical practice that sees so many patients each and every day.

On any given Monday-- Ms. Lois is chauffeured to the grocery store to choose the finest of ingredients for the preparations for the Tuesday meal. She will go shopping isle to isle, taking her time, and choosing what she knows will make for the best Tuesday doctor's meal.

On any given Tuesday--you know you are in for a surprise if you're a doctor. You can smell the cooking in the early morning as you arrive at work and you wonder, what could it be you--fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, green beans, potatoes or is it pork chops, greens, and squash. And that's just for starters. Her sweet potato soufflé is good enough to be called desert. Speaking of which--try the strawberry cake, Italian wedding cake, and pecan pies--and you will not be able to eat only one piece. Leftovers, don't count on it. And, if it's your birthday, you better watch out, you're in for a special treat.

In her past years, Ms. Lois loved to dance, sing in church, and spend time in the community assisting and helping people. She has many wonderful grandchildren who adore her very much. She is especially proud of her grandson who has been highly honored in the United States Armed Forces.

For all the special memories, dedication, and hard work, the doctors and staff at IMA pay special tribute to Ms. Lois and thank her for all her years of faithful commitment.
