Internal Medicine Associates provides a full range of diagnostic radiology testing. X-rays help your physician diagnose a wide variety of conditions including bone injuries, infections and arthritis. Our radiology images are processed digitally and are available for physician review within minutes of testing. What to Expect:

Depending on the part of the body being x-rayed, the patient will be asked to lie on a table or stand while imaged are obtained. Patients are given a lead apron to wear for protection of parts of the body are not to be x-rayed.

Women who are pregnant or are breastfeeding must alert their physician and technologist before the examination.

Bone Mineral Density

A bone mineral density test is an easy, reliable test that measures the density or thickness of your bones. It measures the amount of mineral (calcium) in a specific area of bone. The more mineral you have in the bone measured, the greater your bone density or bone mass. This test is used to diagnose osteoporosis and evaluate risk for fracture. Early detection of this disease allow for early treatment.

Appointment Information

For your convenience, we are open from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Thursday and until noon on Fridays. This test will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
