Nutritional Deficiencies

Nutritional deficiencies are a common problem despite our access to food. Vitamin B12, Vitamin D and Essential Fatty Acids are some of the more common deficiencies. Vitamin D has received a lot of attention because of the epidemic of deficiencies and its important role in the health of our bones, heart, immune system and perhaps cancer prevention.

If you have symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency such as fatigue, body aches, bone loss or palpitations, ask your doctor to check your levels. If your laboratory test results reflect low vitamin levels, your physician will then direct supplementation.

Remember to eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry, nuts and berries.
