Internal Medicine Associates is formed with 3 Internal Medicine physicians.

1968-1994  

IMA expands with new primary care and specialty physicians.

1994

The group consists of 18 physicians specializing in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Pulmonology, and Gastroenterology.

IMA joins with 73 local physicians and optometrists from Carolina Multispecialty Associates. This group is formed to strengthen negotiating abilities with insurance companies.

1999

Carolina Multispecialty Associates is dissolved and Internal Medicine Associates of Greenville, P.A. is founded with 15 physicians. Surgery Department is added.

2004

Rheumeatology Department added.

2005

IMA has 23 physicians who care for more than 500 patients per day. Endocrinology Department is added.

2007

IMA physicians join the Greenville Hospital System.

2009

IMA has 26 physicians and growing.
